Below are various Yanceys for which more details are sought.
(especially as to parentage and ancestry)

George W. Yancey (1816-????)

Born about 1816 in North Carolina, George married Emily Davenport 27 Jan 1836 in Halifax Co., VA.  They have various children recorded with them on the 1850 census.  George died at Richmond in 1864.
Any info on  parentage of interest

J. B. Yancey (1853-1916)
Died in 1916 in Leflore Co., MS.  Was father of  L. Hix Yancey.  Any info on parentage of interest

James Yancey (1835-????)
Married  Mary E. Walker - 1868 in Clark Co., AR.  Father of Walter Monroe Yancey.  It would seem this may be the same James Yancey who later lived in Texas and married Sarah Mattie Williams about 1870 and had various children and died and is buried in Archer Co., TX.  Anyone know of any proof that they are the same person?

Jesse Yancey
On the 1880 census of Cherokee Co., AL - anyone have an idea as t his parents?

Joseph Yancey
On the 1880 census of Ohio Co., WV is found Joseph & Elizabeth Marshall Yancey. His father is recorded as being born in Virginia and his mother in London.
any ideas as to parents?

Thomas L. S. Yancey (1834-????)
Born about 1834 in Tenn/Miss.  Married 11 Jan 1851 in Lamar Co., Texas - M. C. George.   Anyone have any ideas who this Thomas Yancey is?

Thomas  Albert Yancey (1839-1893) of Perry County, Arkansas

Various people have him recorded as a son of Napolean B Yancey.  But I have yet to see proof.   Can anyone locate proof as to his parentage?

Julia Yancey of Georgia
To have married one Abner Ward in Georgia 17 July 1822 and had various children.  Name may have been YENSE or some other variation instead of Yancey. Any details as to parentage is of interest.

Leonard Jessie Yancey (1881-1969) died in Blackfoot, Idaho
obituary says son of Mr. & Mrs. Jesse Yancey
but which Jesse?   (it seems the obit might be wrong as to parentage)

William R Yancey of Baldwin Co., AL

On the 1850 Census of Baldwin County, Alabama is one William R. Yancey, age 40 with wife Virginia, age 21 and children Frederick, age 14 (from a prior marriage?); John, age 1; and William under age 1. The Father was born in Tennessee and the mother was born in Florida. The children were all born in Baldwin Co., AL. There is a marriage record of William R. Yancey and Virginia Keyes (or Noyes?) 16 Mar 1848 in Baldwin Co., AL. The parentage of this William R. Yancey is very uncertain.

Do any of you have your own "mystery Yanceys"  for which you are trying to find additonal information  or origin etc.   Let me know - and I will be happy to post the query.
