Jesse P Yancey Jr.
Jesse Pratt Yancey, Jr. born September 5 1857 in Carson City, Nevada. He was the
son of Jesse Pratt Yancey, Sr.
who came west in 1853. He moved to Prineville in 1880 where he engaged in
the ranching and stock business,
in partnership with his brother Steve. He also operated a horse team freight
business from The Dalles to Prineville.
Together they freighted the first equipment for the Prineville Power Plant.
Jesse lived on a ranch where the
Ochoco Lake now stands. His ranch house and barn were located just east of
the the dam. Jesse married Celia Foren
October 10 1883. She was the niece of Dave Prine who started the City of
Prineville. They had four children,
Cecil Roy, Jesse Lloyd, William Warren and Ruth Louisa. Cecil died in 1904 at
years of age ??
from an accidental handgun accident. He was not married. Jesse Lloyd married
Irene Cascade
Fuller (Aunt Rene). He died in July 1963. Ruth married Luther Barney.
They had three children, M____on, Robert and Mary Ellen.

William Warren Yancey
William Warren "Slim" Yancey, born in 1894 in Lathrop,
California while his mother and father were on vacation. Warren worked for
his father in the ranching business until he joined the army in 1918. He
served in France as an _____man in the Army Air Corps during World War I.
After the war he returned to Prineville [by way ?] of the Prineville
Railroad from Redmond and was the first paying passenger on this railway.
He was appointed Prineville Marshall and served as deputy Sheriff of Crook
County for his uncle Steve Yancey. Warren joined the Oregon State Highway
Patrol in 1927 and became became a charter member of the Oregon [State?]
Police. He served with the State Police ______ when he was promoted to
Captain and ___ the Eastern Dsstrict at Baker. In 1939 he returned to
Prineville where he engaged in ranching on his ranch on Upper Mill Creek
surrounded between the Harry Neal Place and the ___erford ranch. He moved
to Portland during World War II where he retired from Hyster Company in
1958.
William Warren Yancey married Helen Ruth in 1927, she was the daughter of
William & Mary Hardy of Salem. She was a teacher at the School in
Prineville. She is a graduate of Williamette University and now resides at
her home in Portland. Warren died in August 1980. They had four children,
Raymond, Delbert Warren, Helen Lucille and Alice Ann. Raymond died at brth.
Delbert Warren married Gloria Pariseau, they have two children, Lonnie and
Donna. Warren served over twenty years in the army participating in the
Korean and Vietnam conflicts. He retired as a Sergeant Major. He is
currently a businessman in Portland. Lonnie married June Trizzino, they
have four children, [Eric?], Erin, Donald and Alexander. Lonnie served in
the army during the Vietnam conflict and is currently an executive with
the Army Air Force exchange in Michigan. Donna married Dan ______ and they
have no children. She is currently working for her father in Portland.
Helen Lucille Yancey married Franklin (Pat) ______. They live in Portland
and have four children: Mark, Mary, Matthew and Malinda. Helen is a
housewife. Pat and their sons, Mark and Matthew are very active with the
Boy Scouts. Both are Eagle Scouts. Mark is a graduate architect. He
married Sherry Keeton. Mary is attending Willamette University, Matt and
Malinda are attending High School in Portland. Alice Ann Yancey graduated
from Lewis and Clark College in Portland. She is a registered nurse. Alice
Ann is not married and is currently nursing in Bellingham, Washington.
