DJY:   What the author of this compilation of Civil War letters did not know -
was that James Yancey and Rosa Tapp - were not just cousins,
but lovers and were married in August of 1864.  Intermarriage amongst 1st and 2nd cousins
was really not an uncommon thing in 18th & 19th  century America.
James was lucky, or blessed, and survived the great conflict that tore the country apart.
He lived to the ripe old age of 89.
James & Rosa never had any children.
