Ira Vivian EZZELL, daughter of James William "Willie" EZZELL and Lizzie Myrtle MASSEY, was born 9 Feb 1906 in Franklin County, Alabama and died 19 Jun 1988 at age 82.

Ira married Eli Hugh BARKSDALE, son of Charley Greek BARKSDALE and Marilda "Riddy" BRUMLEY, 2 Jul 1933. Eli was born 24 Mar 1897 in Alabama and died in Feb 1977 at age 79. Another name for Eli was Ellahugh BARKSDALE

"Ira was a supervisor at a sewing factory in Mississippi . She made Gay, Joyce and Pam dresses and also coats. They lived in Mississippi most of their lives.

I remember going to their house. She dipped snuff and would never let anyone outside of the family know about it. One time someone rang the door bell and she ran to the bathroom and spit it out and brushed her teeth before going to the door. She had the prettiest teeth I’ve ever seen and she didn’t have any tooth decay.

When any of the family would go to see her in Mississippi she wanted them to bring her sweet gum limbs because she used these to brush her teeth."
