Glasgow Family
From Ireland, to South Carolina,
and on to the rest of the United States

This genealogy endeavor began in the late 1950's early 1960's by Robert S. Glasgow, Jr. of Adamsville, Alabama.  Although he died in 1993, the fruits of his research has enabled the ever expanding branches of this tree to know the seed from which it grew.

I hope you enjoy reading about some of the Glasgow surname history and viewing the pages and related links. Glasgow settlers who migrated to Alabama and Arkansas are included in this site along with descendants of Robert and Rachel Glasgow who came to America from Ballyeaston, Ballycor Parish, Northern Ireland and settled in and around Newberry, South Carolina.

Donna Jean Glasgow, one of our Arkansas Glasgow kin, has continued her quest for Glasgow family ancestors by making a rewarding trip to Northern Ireland. She has graciously agreed to share and contribute the research that she obtained on her visit with the rest of us - her extended Glasgow family.

As told through her story of "The Life of James Glasgow", Donna Jean has managed to bring some of our earliest known ancestors alive with unique intensity and perception. This priceless information will help many Glasgow family researchers continue the pursuit in finding our mysteriously evasive early ancestors and by adding to this ever branching Glasgow Family Tree.
