I am a direct descendant of Mary HUNT (she married Robert Minge, then William Allen, then Field JEFFERSON, brother of Peter Jefferson and brother-in-law of Mary FIELD). My descent is from Mary and William Allen. I am particularly interested in anything I can learn about Field JEFFERSON--who he was, what he did, what was his relationship with the FIELDs, his first marriage to Mary Frances Robinson and their children/descendancy, why he and Mary Hunt entered into a prenuptual agreement, Mary Field's parents/ancestry/siblings/descendants, and information regarding the area they all lived in plus any books/literature/conferences, etc. I can get my hands on regarding these people.

He was born in Bedford Co., VA and served in the Revolution from there, later lived in NC, so she could have been either place. I noticed one of the names in the Field info was "Larkin." 10. Corley FIELDS b. 1878 California
11. Harry Martin FIELDS b. 1880 California Clayton FIELDS (my grandfather's brother) died of Alzheimer's Disease. Additionally, I have found that both Morgan Elmer FIELDS (my
ggrandfather) and his brother, Ezra Grant FIELDS, died while housed in a sanitarium (Eastern Oregon State Hospital, Pendleton, OR, and Lucas Sanitarium, Santa Maria, CA, respectively). While they died prior to the identification/classification of Alzheimers, it appears to me that Alzheimers may run in my family. My father, Earl A. Fields Jr., died in 1988 at the age of 43 so I have no way of knowing if it has been carried through to our line, or if myself or my children arecarriers. I am very interested in meeting other descendants of this FIELDS line (or parallel to Edmund FIELDS line) to see if they, too, have foundsimilar instances of Alzheimer's.

I am researching one Ebenezer FIELDS (born ca 1770-75 in what is now KY). The earliest official record I find for him is when he married on 5-20-1799 in Bourbon Co., KY to Sarah Roxanne Burden. They lived in Nicholas Co., KY until around 1815 when they started West. Six of their nine children were born in Nicholas Co., the other three were born in Ray Co., MO. Ebenezer died in Ray Co., MO. His wife remarried and she and some of the children proceeded to OR. Some of the children remained in MO. Given how KY evolved into a state, I have to believe he was born in what was known as VA at the time but maybe not.

Ebenezer FIELDS (c1770-1847) married Sarah Roxannah BURDEN (c1783- 1850), daughter of James BURDEN, on 20 May 1799 in Bourbon Co., KY. This area became Nicholas Co., KY. I descend from their daughter Margaret Sarah (Peggy) FIELDS born ca 1810 in Nicholas Co., KY, who married Peter RUSOW (Rousseau) on 22 April 1830 in Ray Co., MO. Peter and Peggy RUSOW had three sons: James (1831), Ebenezer (1833), and Joseph (1836). I also descend from a Mary Ann FIELDS who was born in 1836 in Ray Co., MO. I have not been able to document who her parents were. She may be the daughter of a John FIELDS who lived in Ray Co., MO, at that time. I am still sorting out the many different FIELDS families who lived in Ray Co. between 1818-1850. Mary Ann FIELDS (1836-1909) married James RUSOW, the eldest son of Peter Rusow and Peggy FIELDS, in 1851 in Ray Co., MO. James RUSOW died in 1891 (place unknown) and his widow Mary Ann FIELDS RUSOW died in Council, Adams Co., Idaho in 1909.

My earliest known Field is Clarence who married Helen Hartman. My dad's Grandma (Edith Almeda Hartman nee Himes) had at least one child, Roy Robert Hartman (his dad). I wonder if there were more children? We had a man come to visit last year and says he is a cousin to my dad. My dad is deceased so I have no idea if he is really related other than his word. My uncle says no way but Philip (Wilfred) Field says he was related or at least raised thinking Helen (his mother) was a Hartman before marrying his dad, Clarence Field.

Though I'm not personally a Field(s) descendant, I am interested in the family. For 15 years I've edited "Hash Family Historian," and one large branch of descendants of this family come from Joseph and Margaret (Hash) Fields. Joseph was b. They all removed to Missouri (well, most of them) at a fairly early time.

Earliest Field ancestor: Richard Henry FIELD. Mary PEMBERTON, daughter of Larkin PEMBERTON and his second wife Behethelon WHEATLEY, was born ca. 1820 - 1822 in Culpeper County, VA. On 10 Jan 1839 in Culpeper Co., VA, she married Richard Henry FIELD, who possibly could have been previously married to an Alice LOGAN. Their children were William (b. 1842), Catherine (b. 1844), and Zachariah (b. 1847). I suspect that Richard Henry FIELD was dead by 1850 as Mary and the children were living with her uncle, Oswald N. PEMBERTON, and no other mention of her husband has been found. I suspect that Richard Henry FIELD is the son of Daniel FIELD who owned Hollow Square in Culpeper County, and a brother of Lucy A. FIELD, but this is far from verified. I am specifically looking for the following persons: Benjamin, Catherine, Daniel, Lucy A., Richard Henry, William, and Zacheriah. My mother was a Field and born in Northwest Missouri as was I. Her father, my grandfather was William Joseph Field born in 1844 in Buchanon Co. Mo., and he had nine children from his first marriage and eight children from his second marriage. William Field's father was William Durret Field, thought to have been born in Kentucky about 1805. He was supposed to have been a twin to perhaps a John or David Field. William Durret Field married Eliza Schmahorn ,and both are buried in the Linden Cemetery near Watson, Mo. Other lines of investigation involve the Merrill family. Many of the Merrills were also from KY in the late 1700's and well into the 1800's.

Earliest known Field ancestor by my own research is John Field of Louisville, KY and his daughter Matilda Field (1797-1859), wife of Thomas Hollis. Based on others' work, this line links back to the Henry Field who immigrated to Jamestown in 1635, although with one questionable link. I don't have any lines that are especially Field-related, except for HOLLIS, I guess.
