Field: Mr. Field was born in the county in which he now resides, six miles south of Lockhart (Caldwell County), on June 5, 1856. He was the youngest of eight children born to Henry Hill and Mary Russell (CALVIN) FIELD, who were born in Virginia, and at an early day became residents of Caldwell County Texas. In Albert F. Field's early manhood he followed various occupations, such as clerking. He was one of the famous Texas Rangers. From 1878 until 1882, he was Deputy Sheriff, after which he was elected to the office of County Sheriff. After serving ten successive years he declined further election. In January 1887, Mr. Field became proprietor of his present livery stable, and has a remarkably well equipped establishment, with about twenty-four head of horses at all times ready for use, and a fine line of buggies and carriages. He is also quite extensively engaged in buying and selling stock. On 22 November 1882, he was married to Miss Kate W. McDOWELL, a native of Tennessee and daughter of Tillerton McDOWELL. To their union the following children have been born: Mary Virginia Field; Katie Rankin Field; Albert Steele Field; Thomas Creigh Field, who died at the age of ten months; Henry Hill Field; and Warwick Francis Field. Mr. Field has a handsome and comfortable home in Lockhart, and a very interesting family. He was the son of #7016, William Hill and Mary (YOUNG) FIELD. (1853) removed with his parents to Pettis County, Missouri. After his father's death, with his mother and family returned to Kentucky. In 1865 he graduated from Louisville University, and began his law practice, in partnership with [#7127], his brother, (Judge) Emmet FIELD of Louisville. In 1869, Richard Field married Fanny WENTWORTH of Lexington, Missouri. She was the daughter of Stephen G. WENTWORTH, a banker, and founder of Wentworth Military Academy of Lexington, Missouri. In 1869, because of his health, Mr. FIELD and his family removed to Faribault County, Minnesota. In 1872 they returned to Lexington, Lafayette County, Missouri, where he resumed his law practice. In 1886 and 1892 he was elected Judge of the Circuit Court for the 6th Judicial circuit of Missouri for the terms of six years each. The counties he served consisted of Saline, Pettis, and Lafayette counties. In 1898 Judge FIELD retired from the bench and resumed his law practice at Lexington., Lafayette County, Missouri. She was the daughter of Anthony McELROY of Springfield, Kentucky. In 1886 Mr. Field was elected to serve on the bench as Judge of the Common Pleas Division of the Jefferson Circuit Court of Louisville. He served fourteen years. Resided Louisville, Kentucky. Field, born 5 January 1885. #7136...James Gavin FIELD, Jr,, son of James Gavin and Frances Etta (COWHERD) FIELD, was born 13 November 1862, at Windsor, Albemarle County, Virginia. He graduated, April 1885, from the Virginia Medical College, in Richmond, Virginia. In 1887, he was commissioned an assistant surgeon in the Medical Corps of the United States Navy. In 1893 he returned to Denver, Colorado, to practice medicine. He married Winnie Packard GODFREY of New Orleans, Louisiana, on 17 July 1895, in Denver, Colorado. At the outbreak of the Spanish-American War (1898) he was ordered back into active military service in the Medical Corps of the U.S. Navy. After peace was declared between the two countries, he resumed his practice in Denver, Colorado. HIGBEE, had made large investments, and was engaged in various business enterprises. Mr. Field's health gradually broke down, and he was forced to resign his promising business interests, and return to Kentucky. He invested in land in Woodford County, Kentucky and engaged in the breeding and raising of blooded livestock. Resided Woodford County, Kentucky. He married Lelia GAY. He was an editor and manager of _The Thoroughbred Record_, at Lexington, Kentucky - a newspaper widely known for its authority on livestock. Willis Field married Elizabeth SHYROCK. This one from Weldon W. Rogers : The population of Virginia in 1635, not counting a few blacks and a lot of Indians was less than 2,000. The closest accurate name list is the census of 1624 listing the 800 survivors of the Indian Massacre of 1623. He died about 13-15 years ago. He lived in East Texas, in the Paris, New London, TX area. He was a wildcatter for oil companies during the hey day of oil business in the early century. My mother was born to him and my grandmother, Annie Lacey Hearn Field, in 1921. My grandparents divorced when my mother was about 7 or so, so we did not have much contact with him. Any relation?
