Mrs. L. C. Hammond
On Sunday evening last Mrs. L. C. Hammond died at her home in this city, in the fifty-ninth year of her age.
Deceased had been a patient sufferer for a long time previous to her death. Some fourteen years ago she
was stricken with paralysis. A few years late she fell, breaking one of her limbs, which had been paralyzed,
and later an arm was fractured by a fall. A little over a year ago she was afflicted with a tumor, which
caused her death. In her younger days Mrs. Hammond devoted a large portion of her time in caring for the
sick and never refused a call to aid the afflicted. She died as she had lived, a conscientious Christian. To
the husband, who has for forty years had the companionship of a lovable wife, and to the children, who
have lost a devoted mother, the sympathy of the public is extended.
