Holy Bible in English; Concord, N.H., Luther Roby, 1843.
This Bible belonged to Abner & Sarah (Prescott) Marion of Burlington, Massachusetts. About 1840 the
Marion's purchased what has come to be known as the Grandview Farm, but previously known as the
Marion Tavern, which served as a halfway house or stage stop.
The Bible itself does suffer some condition issues. The original entries of the birth of the children was
done using a poor quality of ink which has broken down and faded. Someone later on has recopied the
inscriptions on the following page. The names of the grandchildren also seem to have been added later
and without birth dates. Overall it is still a valuable record for the Marion family.
The Bible is now in the possession of the C. G. Brisee Genealogy Library, Irwin, Iowa.
