The John Raymond Geer Family Bible was transcribed in a letter from S. A. Hoyle to Etta,
who lived in Owego, NY. Additional notations were made by S. A. Hoyle, these will be in
parenthesis and then some correspondance was added at the end of the letter. The
publishing information is not known, nor is the present location of the Bible known. The
letter was written approximately in 1927, this is based on other items in the folder with
the letter.
Dear Etta;-
Your letter received. Following is copy of record from Family Bible.
John Raymond Geer was born January 14th 1789. Anna Potter Geer, his wife
was born October 18, 1792. They were married March 10 1811 Floyd, Oneida
Co New York
Susan Ann Geer their daughter was born April 18 1816 Floyd N. Y.
Samuel Potter Geer their 4th son was born on Monday the 20th day of Dec'r
AD 1819 Floyd, N. Y.
Benejah Geer (Great Grandfather) died May 8, 1839 in teh 85th year of his
age in Fenton Oneida Co N. Y.
Polly Geer (Mary Fairchild) wife of Benajah Geer died May 25 1829 aged 80
years.
(Grandfather) J. B. Geer died July 2. 1865 Syracuse, N. Y.
(Grandmother) Anna Geer died Sept. 1 1863 Oswego, New York
Susan Ann Geer was married to Wm. T. Courtney Sept. 22d 1836 Utica NY.
Susan Ann Courtney wife of Wm T. Courtney died April 7th 1857 Aged 41
years 11 months and 23 days.==

Of the maiden name of ancestry beyond their records we are unable to give.
Your Aunt Eliza, my mother is in very poor health.
My husband is well. We are still living at our dear old home. East Lawn Scriba.
Since our last correspondence there have been three deaths in our family.
Father, Nellie and John.
