[All the above is in German and has been translated as well as possible, the Print having
faded with age and the old writing hard to decipher. The following is in English and was
recorded after Magdalena came to America with Karoline, Josephine, Emma and Karl in
approx . 1888. Original entries were by Magdalena Schwarz Dressel. Entries after
Magdalena's death are by her daughter Emma Dressel Markwith, after Emma's death, by
her daughter Lillian Dressel Paterson and after Lillian's death by Dorothy Markwith Borne.
All words in parentheses are added by Dorothy Borne.]
