I JECHONIAS YANCEY of the county of Granville, State of North Carolina, being weak and feable in body, but of sound mind & memory, blessed be God, do this sixth day of January in the year of our Lord 1828 make, publish and declare the following items to be and contain my will with regards to the [disposition?] of that portion of temporal substance with which I have been blessed - after first [resigning?] my immortal spirit unto the hands of my [almighty?] creator who gave it and this frail [L____?] to it's mother dust to be decently buried.

Item - It is my will & desire that my Executor should select such property as they may think fit to a sufficient value and sell the same [upon?] a credit of [_____?] months and with the money arising from such sale pay & discharge all my just debts.

Item - I give and bequesth to my son LEMUEL & his heirs forever two negro men named Harry & [Mullet?] or young Cator.

Item - I give & bequeath to my daughter POLLY YANCEY a negro girl named Sally & her increase - also our bed furniture.

Item - I give & bequeath to my daughter FANNY YANCEY a negro girl named [Lydy?] & her increase forever - also one bed furiture.

Item - I give & bequeath to my son WILLIAM P. YANCEY four negroes [say?] Osborn, Harriet, James, Albert to him & his heirs forever.

Item - It is my will and desire that my man Cator & his wife Linda at my death be set free & with my Executor to use his best [exertion?] to effect that object.

Item - I hereby nominate ordain constitute & appoint my son CHARLES YANCEY my Executor to Execute do and perform this my Last Will & Testament.

The Executor of the foregoing Last Will & Testamanet of JECHONIAS YANCEY Decd. was [_____?] on oath in [____?] court by David J Young one of the subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded. At the same time came forward CHARLES YANCEY who is named as the Executor in said will and [succeeded?] to qualify as such. Whereupon as [_______?] with the will annexed was granted to Stephen [______] on this estate of JECHONIAS YANCEY Decd. who [charged?] into bodn for $2000 with RICHARD [LUSSD?], ALBERT SNEID, & SAMUEL LUSSD [____?] and qualified accordingly.
